Welcome to opera piccola

opera piccola was founded in and for the Bremen, Germany community and primarily for all music lovers in the world.  Since February 2003, we have moved our productions to Vienna.

We produce comprehensible and entertaining operas with a modest budget.  The most important factor for us is highlighting the main conflicts in the opera, and life; such as jealousy, revenge, loves' up and downs, pursuit of power, tragic failures, etc.  In our opinion, over-decoration and luxurious costumes distract the public from the important aspects of the opera's subject.

That is how we create up to three operas a year; classical, as well as contemporary, operettas and musicals.

Young and gifted singers, especially selected on the basis of their artistic talents and stage personality, skillfully transport our theatrical concept to the public at large.

 Our rehearsal program helps them to develop their stage skills masterfully.

The Association of opera piccola supports this ideal. Its members take full responsibility of the organization and technical sides of the performances and provide PR contacts and housing for the artists.
